Jon E. Berlin
Like Lily, Jon does a little bit of everything from winemaking to sales. He was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved to Cape Town when he was eighteen. After a year in the Navy, he spent the next ten pursuing his passion for surfing, which resulted in his own business designing and manufacturing boards. He fell into the wine business from the restaurant business and to get his start worked seven back-to-back harvests bouncing between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, working at Flagstone, Flowers, Hamilton Russell and back to Flowers, Brokenwood, Nga Waka and Joseph Phelps. He topped it off with a post-graduate degree in Viticulture and Enology from Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand. Many of our visitors remark that Jon is an excellent host, sometimes with Edward on his back.
