Connoisseurs’ Guide
Very much the classic look at Napa Valley Chardonnay, this one sets solid ripe apple fruit with a slightly stony, crisp edge against a backdrop of rich, creme brulee oakiness. The wine is fairly full and rounded at entry and crosses the palate with plenty of fruit energy in tow while never giving in to any hint of heaviness. It is keenly focused throughout and ends with a rich, sustained aftertaste of oak and fruit. A few years of aging are entirely within its reach and are recommended.

Well done, with a complex display of ripe, rich and perfumed pear and honeydew melon flavors that are pure and elegant. Drink now through 2005. 880 cases made. - J.L.
